West Point, GA - The Knights were back on the road on Saturday, February 15th as they traveled to West Point, Georgia to take on the Skyhawks of Point University. The Knights were looking to turn their momentum around after losing to Life University on Thursday.
The Knights faced an early deficit after the Skyhawks scored the first six points of the game. The Skyhawks held the lead throughout the first quarter, leading by as much as six points, before the Knights closed the gap down to two points at the end of the quarter. The Knights turned on the pressure in the second quarter as they found their shooting touch, outscoring the Skyhawks 25-11, and they led 41-29 at halftime. The Skyhawks made adjustments during the break as the Knights lead shrunk to one point with 3:11 left in the third quarter. The Knights adjusted late but surged in the final minutes, taking a 56-50 lead into the fourth quarter. The Knights went up by nine points early in the fourth quarter but a 10 point run by the Skyhawks put the Knights down by one point. The game was close for the remainder of the game with the lead trading hands multiple times but the Knights ultimately found themselves on the losing end, 71-69.
Keiane' Rollins led the Knights with 24 points, 11 coming from the free throw line, and
ZaKyria Johnson added a 22 point-16 rebound double-double.
The Knights will be back in action on Wednesday, February 19th when they host the Nighthawks of Thomas University and celebrate Senior Day. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30 PM EST.
