Knights Split Doubleheader with Marian

Cochran, GA - The Knights were back on their home field on Friday, February 7th as they hosted the Knights of Marian University. The Knights were coming off of a close loss to Talladega College and were looking to bounce back.

The first game of the doubleheader was not what the Knights had in mind. Marian scored 12 runs in the first five innings of the game and the Knights had to try and claw their way back into the game. The offense found some magic in the seventh inning with an RBI double from Mason Page and a two-run home run by Grey Brannen but the Knights lost 12-3. The Knights had more success in the second game of the day. Marian scored one run in the second inning but the Knights answered back in the third with Luke Davis scoring on a wild pitch. Jaiden Duarte put the Knights ahead in the fourth inning with a solo home run and gave the Knights a 2-1 lead. After Marian tied the game in the fifth inning, a bases loaded walk by Teonis Pimentel put the Knights back in the lead. The Knights added an insurance run in the sixth inning when Michael Flaherty scored on a double play. The Knights pitching staff held Marian scoreless over the final three innings and the Knights won the game 4-2. Andrew Lowrey was credited with the win, David Johnson got the hold, and Carter Oglageo got the save.

The Knights will finish off the series with Marian on Saturday, February 8th with the first pitch scheduled for 1 PM EST.
