Tifton, GA - The Knights were back in action on Friday, March 29th as they headed to Tifton, Georgia to take on the Stallions of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. The Knights and Stallions played earlier in the season in a non-conference matchup that the Knights won 5-2.
The Knights struck first in the second inning as
Jaiden Duarte stole home to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. The Stallions answered back in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game at 1-1. The Knights gained the lead again in the fourth inning on a two-run home run by
Teonis Pimentel to go ahead 3-1. The Knights added to their lead with an RBI single in the fifth inning by
Zane Faulk and an RBI single by
Jose Vargas in the sixth inning with Vargas later coming around to score. The Knights finished off their scoring with a solo home run in the seventh inning by Duarte as they held a 7-1 lead. The Stallions scored two runs in the bottom half of the seventh inning but the Knights would hold on for the 7-3 win. Kenny Miller pitched the complete game, giving up eight hits and six walks while striking out nine batters.
The Knights will be back in Tiftion on Saturday, March 29th as they finish off the conference series and look for the sweep. First pitch is scheduled for 1 PM EDT.
