ALBANY, Ga. - For the third straight week, the Knights hit the road on a Friday night as they headed toward Albany, Georgia to run in the Willie Laster Invitational. The Knights looked to continue their upward trend with their times getting faster each week.
Agustina Olivero (24:24.0) was the first Knight to finish on the day as
Irina Furtuna came across immediately afterwards in 24:24.4. Ainhoa Fernandez finished as the third Knights runner in 27:52.2 with
Yana Prihach (29:16.3) and Berta Castello (29:22.1) rounding out the team scoring for the Knights.
Chloe Key was the next Knights runner to finish in 32:33.8 and
Tamanna Takoria was the final runner for the Knights to finish in a time of 33:29.9. In the team results, the Knights had enough points to come in eighth place out of 12 teams. The Knights defeated Chipola College, Wallace Community College, Fort Valley State University, and fellow PBC member Georgia Southwestern.
The Knights get some time to rest and recuperate before their next meet on Saturday, October 11 as they head to Beaufort, South Carolina to run in the Sand Shark Invitational. That meet is scheduled to start at 8:30 AM EST.
