COCHRAN, Ga. - The Knights were back on the diamond on Sunday, February 22nd as they wrapped up their series against the Pacers of USC-Aiken. The Knights lost the first game of the series 12-0 and looked to provide more offense.
Game One

The Knights were behind from the start as the Pacers put up four runs in the first inning. After the Pacers added a run in the third inning, the Knights scored two runs in the bottom half of the inning on a
Justin Aponte solo home run and an RBI double by
Sebastian Collender. The Knights got three more runs in the fourth inning after a balk, and RBI single by
Tate Abbott, and a sacrifice fly by Collender as they tied the game at 5-5. The Knights grabbed the lead in the fifth inning with an RBI single by Aponte, a two-run single by Abbott, and a three-run home run by Collender as they led 11-5. The Pacers got one run back in the seventh inning but the Knights held them off to win 11-6
Notable Performances
Sebastian Collender went 2-for-3 at the plate with five RBI while
Tate Abbott went 3-for-5 with three RBI.
Andrew Lowrey got the win, throwing 4 and 2/3 innings out of the bullpen and allowing one run on three hits and striking out five batters.

The Pacers went up with one run in the first inning and two runs in the second inning before the Knights scored two runs in the bottom half of the second inning on a
Connor Shealy solo home run and a failed pickoff attempt. The Pacers scored one run in the third and fourth innings but the Knights answered back in the bottom of the fourth with four runs on a
Justin Aponte sacrifice fly and a three-run home run by
Mikal Ashley to take a 6-5 lead. The Pacers tied the game with one run in the fifth inning and the Knights regained the lead on a wild pitch in the bottom half of the inning. The Pacers grabbed the lead with six runs in the sixth inning and scored two runs in the seventh and one run in the eighth and ninth innings as the Knights lost 16-7.

The Knights will be back in action on Tuesday, February 24th as they face the Stallions of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. First pitch is scheduled for 3 PM EST.
