Baseball Takes Series With Dominant Win

COCHRAN, Ga. - The Knights wrapped up their Peach Belt Conference series against Augusta University on Sunday, March 15th.. The Knights evened the series against the Jaguars on Saturday and were looking to pick up the win to lock up the season series.

Game Recap

The bats were ready to go to work for the Knights as Sebastian Collender put them ahead with a two-run home run in the first inning. After giving up one run in the second inning, the Knights came back in the bottom half of the inning and scored three runs on a two-run home run by Seve Fernandez and an RBI single by Mikal Ashley to pull ahead 5-1. The Knights kept scoring as they picked up another run in the third inning on an error and scored four runs in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Mikal Ashley, a wild pitch that scored Justin Aponte, and a two-run single by Patrick Crosby as the Knights held a 10-1 lead after four innings of play. The Jaguars scored one run in the fifth inning but the Knights had an answer with another RBI single from Mikal Ashley. The Jaguars started to gain some momentum as they scored one run in the sixth inning and three runs in the eighth inning, but the Knights got a two-run home run from Tate Abbott and shut down the Jaguars to win the game 13-6.

Notable Performances

Sebastian Collender went 4-for-5 at the plate as Mikal Ashley and Patrick Crosby each went 3-for-5.

What's Up Next

The Knights head back out on the road as they travel to Daytona Beach, Florida to take on the 5th-ranked Lakers of Grand Valley State University. First pitch is scheduled for 6 PM EST.
