LAKELAND, Fla. - The Knights hit the court again on Wednesday, March 18th as they finished up their Florida road trip with a match against the Fire of Southeastern University. The Knights were looking to break a two match losing streak while the Fire had a five match winning streak. The Fire were also ranked 4th in the latest ITA rankings amongst NAIA schools.

The Knights got off to a good start to the match as
Agustina Olivero and
Ainhoa Meili Fernandez del Moral won their doubles match 6-3 and put the Knights one match away from the point. The knights lost the #2 doubles match that forced the doubles point to come down to the #3 doubles match. In that match,
Lucile Gence and
Irina Furtuna got the better of their opponent and picked up the 6-2 win to give the Knights a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.
Lucile Gence won the #3 singles match in straight sets with a 6-3, 6-3 win to put the Knights up 2-0 The next two matches of singles play went to the Fire as the match was tied at 2-2.
Agustina Olivero picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win in the #4 singles match to put the Knights back out in front with a 3-2 lead and one match away from clinching the win. The Knights picked up that point in the #6 singles match with
Yana Prihach winning the first set 6-1 but the Fire came back to win the second set to force a third set. Prihach dominated the set as she won 6-0 and gave the Knights the match win. The final singles match played out with
Aya El Marrasse Zarioui going three sets to take the 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 win as the Knights won the match 5-2.

What's Next
The Knights will be back in action on Wednesday, March 25th when they head to Albany, Georgia to take on the Golden Rams of Albany State University. That match is scheduled to start at 1:00 PM EST.
