Knights Season Ends at PBC Tournament

Box Score AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Knights were back on the court on Wednesday, March 4th as they got ready for the first round of the 2026 Peach Belt Conference Basketball Tournament. The Knights were the 5-seed and were set to take on the 4-seed Jaguars of Augusta University. The Knights lost both games against the Jaguars in the regular season with a six point loss at home on January 3rd and a 25 points loss on the road on February 21st.

Game Recap

The Knights and Jaguars each made a three-pointer to open the game as both teams held the lead throughout the opening minutes. The Knights strung a couple of baskets together to hold a three-point lead at the media timeout. The Jaguars went on an eight-point run out of the timeout and the Knights scored the final basket of the quarter as they trailed 16-13 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was one the Knights would like to forget as they scored six points on four free throws and one field goal as the Jaguars extended their lead to 31-19.
 
The deficit grew to 15 points early in the third quarter, but the Knights would work to cut the lead down to seven points. The Jaguars caught fire late in the quarter as they pulled away from the Knights to gain a 16-point lead before two late free throws put the Knights down 54-40 with one quarter left to play. The Knights made another run early in the fourth quarter to cut the lead back down to seven points with 4:53 remaining in the game. The deficit would remain around seven points until the Knights cut the lead down to three points late but the Knights were unable to get any closer as they lost 74-70.

Notable Performances

Mauryah Jones led the Knights with 20 points as Kristen Foglia added 18 points. Kennedi Hawkins put up another double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds.

The Knights finish their first season in NCAA Division with a record of 17-11, 10-10 PBC.
