COLUMBUS, Ga. - The Knights headed out to Columbus, Georgia on Friday, April 24th as they were set to play in the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. The Knights came into the tournament as the 4-seed and were set to face the 5-seed Bobcats of Georgia College. The Knights and Bobcats played a very close match earlier in the season with the Knights coming out on top 4-1 and they looked to have a similar result.

The Knights got off to a hot start as the team of
Lucile Gence and
Irina Furtuna won the #3 doubles match 6-0 and the team of
Agustina Olivero and
Ainhoa Meili Fernandez del Moral won the #1 doubles match 6-2 to give the Knights the first point of the match. The Knights lost the lead after the Bobcats won the #5 singles match to tie the match at 1-1. Wins by
Aya El Marrasse Zarioui in the #2 singles match and
Tamanna Takoria in the #6 singles match, both by a score of 6-2, 6-2, put the Knights in position to take the match and a 6-4, 6-3 win in the #3 singles match by
Lucile Gence sealed the win as the Knights came away with a 4-1 victory.

The Knights move on to the semi-finals of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament where they will face the 1-seeded Cougars of Columbus State University. That match will start at a time to be determined later.
