DAHLONEGA, Ga. - The Knights were back out on the field on Saturday, May 2nd as they faced the 5-seed Hurricanes of Georgia Southwestern. Both team were looking to survive another game as the winner would move on in the PBC Tournament while the loser would head home.

The Knights got the scoring started in the second inning with an RBI single by
Teonis Pimentel as they went ahead 1-0. The Hurricanes answered back with seven unanswered runs to pull ahead 7-1 but a two-run single by
Dayton Taylor in the sixth inning brought the Knights back to within four runs. The Hurricanes got both runs back in the seventh inning and the Knights responded with an RBI double from
Justin Aponte. The Hurricanes scored another run in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Knights faced a six run deficit heading into the final inning. The Knights fought back on the brink of elimination as an RBI single from
Luke Davis, a bases loaded walk from
Teonis Pimentel, sacrifice flies from
Dayton Taylor and
Christian Dillard, an error by the Hurricanes, and an RBI double from
Patrick Crosby tied the game at 10-10 and forced the game into extra innings. The 10th and 11th innings went by with no offense and the 12th inning favored the Hurricanes as they scored the winning run and the Knights lost 11-10.
Notable Performances
Mikal Ashley went 3-for-5 at the plate with four other Knights recording multiple hits.
