COCHRAN, Ga.- The Middle Georgia State University Athletic Department is proud to announce the hiring of Brant Herman as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. Herman joins the Knights staff following his time as a NCAA Division II student-athlete at Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio.

Herman will take on strength and conditioning responsibilities for the six athletic programs at the Cochran campus which includes soccer, basketball, baseball and softball.

Herman recently graduated summa cum laude from Walsh with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science while competing as a member of the Cavaliers track and field team. He competed as a thrower in events such as discus, shot put, javelin and hammer.

"When we launched our search to bring on a strength and conditioning coach we had a specific list of qualifications and skills and I'm pleased to say that Brant hit on each of those," said Director of Athletics, Michael Brown.

"Brant possesses the drive and knowledge base as a former Division II student-athlete himself to really aide what we are doing and improve the overall performance of our student-athletes. I'm excited for him to begin working with our coaches and students this fall and witness the positive impact he can make in this role."

In addition to his time as a student-athlete, Herman also completed an internship with My FitLife Sports Performance to continue his professional development while also serving as volunteer fire fighter in his hometown of Mt. Eaton, Ohio.

He earned his NSCA certified strength and condition specialist (CSCS) designation in May '26.

Herman will officially begin his duties at MGA on August 3rd.
