COCHRAN, Ga. - The Knights were back in action on Saturday, September 5th as they hosted the Eagles of Reinhardt University. The Knights were comming off of their first win on the season on Thursday while the Eagles were 2-0 with wins over Point University and Brewton-Parker.
The Knights did not have to wait long before moving out in front as
Javier Gongora Andres put them on the board in the fourth minute of the game. The Knights continued to attack and broke through in the 18th minute with another goal coming from
Javier Gongora Andres. The Eagles started to develop some offense and they would score in the 27th minute to cut the lead down to one. Both teams fired off shots late in the first half but none found the back of the net as the Knights held a 2-1 lead going into halftime.
The shots continued to come in the second half as the two teams looked for more goals. The Knights broke through in the 68th minute with a goal from
Zaki Goes to extend their lead to 3-1. The match turned physical as both teams played to control the ball. The Eagles found the back of the net in the 85th minute to cut the deficit to one but the Knights answered back in the 88th minute with a goal from
Shayne Osbourne to seal the match and win 4-2.
The win moves the Knights to 2-2 on the season as they get ready to move in Peach Belt Conference play on Wednesday, September 9th against the Lakers of Clayton State University. Kick off is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST.
