MACON, Ga. - The Knights were set to start the new cross country season on Saturday, September 5th as they were ready to run in the Julius Johnson Invitational, hosted by Mercer University. The Knights were ready to set a standard to for a new season.

The heat and humidity came into play early in the day to cause times to slow down. Junior transfer Rori Pandolfini was the first Knight to cross the finish line in 24:31, good for 50th overall. Agustina Olivero was the second runner to cross the finish line for the Knights, with a time of 26:33 for 57th place. Irina Furtuna and Lexi Grote were the next Knights to finish with a 27:14 and 27:18 and Ainhoa Meili Fernandez del Moral rounded out the top five with a 28:42. The top five scored 235 points, good enough to finish 8th out of nine teams, beating Clark Atlanta University.

The Knights will be back in action next Friday, September 11th as they run in the Willie Laster Invitational, hosted by Albany State University. Race starts at 6 PM EST.
