Coach Scott Moe is entering his 11th season as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach of Middle Georgia State University heading into the 2024-25 season. Moe served as the Head Men’s Basketball coach of Middle Georgia College for the 12 years prior to his 10 seasons as the head coach at MGSU. Moe began his head coaching career in 2000-01 at MGC as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach. He finished that season with a 16-13 record, and was asked in July of 2001 to take over the men’s program. He spent 12 seasons as the Men’s Coach from the 2001-02 season to the 2013-14 season (Moe did not coach in the 2004-05 season). His overall record in those 11 seasons was 222-146. In 2009-10, Moe led the Warriors to their first trip to the NJCAA National tournament in 30 years. The Warriors were the GJCAA regular season champions as well as the District 17 Tournament Champions. Moe was named GJCAA Coach of the Year as well the District 13 Coach of the year. The Warriors finished 9th in the nation in the Final NJCAA National Poll that season.

The formation of Middle Georgia State University as a new institution from the consolidation of Middle Georgia College and Macon State College made Moe the inaugural Head Coach of the Men’s Basketball program for the 2014-15 season. The Knights played their final season as a member of the NJCAA and the GCAA before entering the NAIA and SSAC in the 2014-15 season. Moe has compiled a 126-118 record in 9 seasons as a member of the NAIA and SSAC. In the 2015-16 season, the Knights finished the regular season as Runner-up in the SSAC and also finished runner–up in the SSAC Tournament. The Knights also had a Runner-up finish in the 2018-19 SSAC tournament, losing 78-74 to Loyola University in the Championship Game. The Knights finished the 2023-24 season with a 8-19 record, finishing 10th in the SSAC. Moe’s overall record as a Head Coach is 372-296.
