Elvar Gudjonsson

Head Coach Elvar Gudjonsson is entering his sixth season at Middle Georgia State College. He spent the 2013-14 season as the head coach at Montgomery Academy in Montgomery, Alabama where he took the team to the state championship in his only season. Prior to Montgomery Academy, Gudjonsson spent two years as a Graduate Assistant at Auburn University-Montgomery assisting with the men's and women's teams. As an assistant, Gudjonsson helped the AUM program to reach the Elite Eight in 2012 and the Final of the 2013 NAIA National Championship (an overtime loss).

Elvar played for AUM from 2004-2007 as a defender and was an All-American Honorable Mention in 2005. He played on teams that made 4 consecutive NAIA National Tournament Appearances with a Runner-Up finish in 2004 and Final Four Appearances in 2005 and 2007. He was All-Conference for the SSAC in 2004, 2005, and 2006 while being named Conference Tournament MVP in 2005. Gudjonsson also played on the Iceland U-17 and U-19 national teams as well as spent several years playing semi-professionally in Iceland.
