PITTSBURGH, PA - The National Club Football Association (NCFA) released the week 9 Phenom Elite Power Rankings which has the Knights football program climbing from two spots to 4th after a win over the prior #2 Fort Lauderdale Eagles on Saturday, November 10 to win the South Atlantic Conference Championship. The team travels to Charlotte, NC on Saturday, November 17 to face the #3 Apprentice School from Virginia who was the Mid Atlantic Conference Champion.
The Knights have a record of 6-2 on the season with losses to NCAA DIII powerhouse University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and NAIA member Allen University. The Knights defeated Columbus State 13-8 in early October before receiving a string of conference forfeits following wins by Columbus State over teams from the University of South Carolina and UNC-Greensboro. The Knights won the SAC North division for their spot against the SAC South winning Eagles which the Knights came out on top, 34-12.
The Apprentice School Builders are 7-2 on the season with losses to NCAA DIII members LaGrange College and Southern Virginia. The Builders won the rest of their games against members of the NCFA including Ohio State for the MAC Championship this past weekend.
The other semifinal features the 2017 NCFA Champion and current #2 Sacred Heart Pioneers against the #1 Oakland University Golden Grizzlies. The matchup is between the North Atlantic Champion Pioneers and Great Lakes Champion Grizzlies.
The winners of each game will meet on December 1 at West Liberty University in Wheeling, WV for the NCFA National Championship game.
