Saturday - Loyola-New Orleans
The Knights were back on Saturday as they faced the Wolfpack who were receiving votes in the latest NAIA poll. The Knights came out looking for the upset as both teams would trade points until the Knights would win three straight points to take a 6-3 lead in the set before the Wolfpack would come back with four straight points of their own. The Knights would continue to keep the set close as both teams would trade the lead down the stretch before the Wolfpack would edge out the Knights with the 25-22 set. The Knights would start off the second set slowly as they were down 4-0 to begin before closing the gap to 5-4. The Knights would take a lead in the set after winning four straight points to go up 9-8 in the set as both teams would again trade points and the lead before the Wolfpack would string together some runs to win the second set 25-16. The energy the Knights had in the first two sets was no where to be found in the third set as Loyola would again jump out to a 4-0 lead and the Knights were unable to answer as the Knights would never hold the lead in the third set and go on to lose the set 25-15. Leaders for the Knights included: Burke with seven kills, Norwood with 23 assists, and Gomez with 18 digs.
The Knights will be back in action on Friday, October 1st as they head on the road to take on the Toppers of Blue Mountain College. The match is set for a 6 PM start.
