Montgomery, AL - The Knights were back on the field on Thursday, October 20th as they traveled to Montgomery, Alabama to take on the Eagles of Faulkner University. The Knights were coming off of a 13-0 rout of Talladega College and were in the midst of a 4-match shutout run. The Knights would get things started in the first couple of minutes as they would be the first to attack, getting off the first shot. The Knights would not take long to get on the scoreboard as they would score the first goal of the game in the ninth minute off the foot of
Hannah Theriault with the assist from
Miagh Downey. The match would go back and forth throughout the remainder of the first half with both teams firing off shots but the score would remain 1-0 in favor of the Knights going into halftime. The Knights would face a number of shots to start off the second half but the defense would hold strong before the Knights would score another goal in the 61st minute as
Sunaina Chaigneau would score her fifth goal of the season and Downey adding on another assist. The Knights would only allow the Eagles to get off one more shot in the match and the Knights would hold on for the 2-0 victory. The Knights extend their shutout streak to five matches and have not allowed their opponent to score a goal in the last 487:44 of gametime. The Knights will have a break in their schedule as their next match will be on Thursday, October 27th when they host the Roadrunners of Dalton State College. That match is set to start at 5:30 PM EST.
