Cochran, GA - The Knights started the regular season on Tuesday, November 1st as they hosted the Nighthawks of Thomas University. The Knights were looking to start the season off on the right foot with a victory. The Knights and Nighthawks would play a close first quarter as both teams would trade the lead multiple times with the Knights holding a 14-13 lead at the end of the quarter. The Knights would ease up in the second quarter as the Nighthawks would outscore the Knights 20-14 in the second quarter and the Knights would trail 33-28 at the halftime break. The Knights deficit would grow to 10 points coming out of halftime but the Knights defense would step up and the Knights would tie the game back up at the end of the third quarter at 47-47. The Knights defense would continue to play well as the Knights would outscore the Nighthawks 19-14 in the fourth quarter and the Knights would win the game 66-61. Lashauna Coley led all scorers with 23 points, coming within one rebound of a double-double, with Brianna McRae adding 13 points off the bench and Jamarra McDowell adding 11 points. The Knights will look to keep the ball rolling as they travel to Montgomery, Alabama to take part in the SSAC/SUN Challenge this weekend, where they will play St. Thomas University on Friday, November 4th and Ave Maria University on Saturday, November 5th. Tip-off for both games will be at 1:15 PM EST.
