Montgomery, AL - The Knights were back in action on Monday as they traveled to Montgomery, Alabama to take the Eagles of Faulkner University. The Knights recently played the Eagles last Thursday, coming away with a loss in a game that was close until the fourth quarter. The Knights were looking to play a complete game this go around. The Knights would fall behind on two early free throws but would come back to take a 7-2 lead with 6:04 remaining in the first quarter. The Knights would continue to lead the Eagles throughout the first quarter, leading by as many as eight points, before ending the first quarter with a 17-10 lead. The Knights offense would continue to roll as they would extend their lead to start the second quarter. The lead would reach 16 points with 2:04 remaining in the quarter as the Knights would outscore the Eagles 15-7 in the quarter and take a 32-18 advantage into halftime. The Knights defense would falter in the third quarter as the Eagles would cut into the Knights lead with Knights holding a 47-43 lead at the end of the third quarter. The defense would find their stride in the fourth quarter as the Knights and Eagles would play a close game all the way to the end when the Knights would get four points in the final 18 seconds and get the 64-60 victory.
Destanee Wright led the Knights with 24 points as they would end their 7-game losing streak. The Knights will look to carry the momentum into their game on Wednesday, February 16th as they will travel to Mobile, Alabama to take on the Rams of the University of Mobile. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM CST.
