Talladega, AL - The Knights were on the road on Saturday as they traveled to Talladega, Alabama to take on the Tornadoes of Talladega College in the regular season finale. The Knights would start off the game with the early lead but the Tornadoes would quickly take control of the game as they would jump out to a double digit lead 3:21 remaining in the first quarter. The deficit would continue to grow as it would reach 15 points before the Knights would end the first quarter down 25-13. The Knights would begin to shrink the deficit in the second quarter but the Tornadoes would go on a run at the end of the second quarter and the Knights would be down 44-26 at halftime. The Knights be unable to get any closer as the deficit would only continue to grow in the third quarter with the Knights down 74-44 at the end of the third quarter. The Knights would shrink the deficit down to 28 points in the fourth quarter but the lead would be too large and the Knights would lose the game 91-61.
Destanee Wright led the Knights with 21 points and
Jurnee Powell added 10 points. The Knights finish the regular season with a 8-11 record and will go into the SSAC Tournament as the 8-seed where they will play on Wednesday, February 23rd as they will take on the 9-seed Toppers of Blue Mountain College. Tip-off will be at 12:00 PM CST.
