Knights Sweep Skyhawks on the Road

West Point, GA - The Knights were on the road on Tuesday as they traveled to West Point, Georgia to take on the Skyhawks of Point University. The Knights were coming off of a series split at home against Reinhardt and looking to continue their offensive production. The Knights would get the scoring started in the second inning as the Knights would load the bases for Lauren Heath to hit into a fielder's choice to score the first run of the game. Karlee Back would hit an RBI single later in the inning and the Knights would take a 2-0 lead. The Knights get two more runs in the fourth inning as the first two runners of the inning would reach base and a sacrifice bunt by Heath would score one run and an error on the Skyhawks would allow another run to score on the play and the Knights would take a 4-0 lead after four innings. The Skyhawks would score a run in the fifth inning and the Knights would threaten in the seventh inning but would leave the bases loaded while they looked to add some insurance runs. The Skyhawks would take advantage as they would score three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to tie the game at 4-4 and force extra innings. The Knights would score one run in the top of the eighth inning on a Logan Blizzard single and they would keep the Skyhawks from scoring in the bottom of the inning to win the game 5-4. The second game of the series would see the Skyhawks get on the scoreboard first as they would score a run in the second inning. The Knights would get on the scoreboard in the fourth inning as Georgia Bice would lead off the inning with a solo home run. The Knights would load the bases with no outs for Heath to hit a sacrifice fly and a two-run double by Back and RBI single from Summer Lawrence would give the Knights a 5-1 lead.
