Knights Start Strong Against #8 Rams

Mobile, AL - The Knights were still on the road on Saturday as they traveled to Mobile, Alabama to take on the #8 Rams of the University of Mobile. The Knights were looking to right the ship against the Rams as they were in a slump as of late. The Knights would get things started early as two walks to lead off the game would set up the Knights for some early offense. A single by Emma Raulerson would load the bases and a walk by Georgia Bice would gve the Knights their first run of the game. A sacrifice fly by Alexis Cosgrove and a passed ball would score two more runs and the Knights would go ahead 3-0. The Knights would give up two runs in the first and second innings as they would fall behind 4-3 and the Rams would score another run in the third inning as the Knights would be unable to find any offense for the rest of the game and they would go on to lose 5-3. The Knights would look to start off the second game of the series like they did the first game. Karlee Back would lead off the game with a single with a sacrifice bunt and stolen base would lead to Back reaching third with only one out but the Knights would be unable to drive the run in. The Knights would give up two runs in the third inning as they would fall behind 2-0. The Knights would threaten in the fourth inning as Raulerson and Cosgrove would reach base. A Summer Lawrence two out single would lead to a play at the plate where Raulerson would be thrown out trying to score the first run of the game and the score would remain 2-0. The Rams would score another three runs in the fifth inning and the Knights would go on to lose 5-0. The Knights will return home as they look to correct some things before heading back out on the road for a series on Friday, March 18th as they travel to Talladega, Alabama to take on the Tornadoes. First pitch is scheduled for 2 PM CST.
