Knights Sweep Sand Sharks on Road

Hardeeville, SC - The Knights were on the road on Tuesday as they traveled to Hardeeville, South Carolina to take on the Sand Sharks of USC-Beaufort. The Knights defeated the Sand Sharks at home last Teusday and were looking to complete the season sweep. The Knights would get off to a hot start as they would score two runs in the first inning as Justin Brooks would lead off the inning with a bunt single and Rafael Gomez Jr would hit into a fielders choice but an error would allow Brooks to reach third. After a Gomez stolen base, Ryan Wilson would hit into the RBI groundout and Brian Herrera would hit an RBI single and the Knights would go up 2-0. After giving up a run in the bottom half of the first inning, the Knights would score two more runs in the second inning on RBI singles from Derick Stager and Brooks to put the Knights up 4-1. The Knights would threaten again in the third inning after loading the bases with no outs but would be unable to drive in any runs. The Knights would come back in the fourth inning to score three runs on an RBI single by Gomez and RBI doubles from Wilson and Herrera as the Knights would start to pull away, leading 7-1. The Knights would score another run in the seventh inning after a lead off double from Andrew Krauss and an RBI single from Stager to give the Knights an 8-1 lead and the Knights would go on to win the game by the same score.
