Knights Complete Season Sweep of Lions

Emerson, GA - The Knights were back at Lakepoint Sports Complex in Emerson, Georgia on Tuesday as they were set to face the Lions of Bryan College for the second time this season. The Knights won the last meeting 19-5 and were looking to do the same on Tuesday. The Knights would start off behind the eight ball as the Lions would hit a solo home run in the top of the first inning and the Knights would be down 1-0. The Knights would get on the scoreboard in the third inning after a Rafael Gomez Jr single and an error on the Lions left fielder would allow Gomez to advance to third on the play. Ryan Wilson would come through with the RBI single to tie the game at 1-1. Paolo Brossier would come up to bat later in the inning with two runners on base and hit the RBI single to put the Knights up 2-1. The Lions would score two runs in the fifth inning but the Knights would come back in the bottom half of the inning as Brian Herrera would hit a solo home run to tie the game at 3-3. Brossier would hit a double later in the inning and would later score on a sacrifice fly by Andrew Krauss and the Knights would take a 4-3 lead. The Knights would add on another run in the sixth inning as Wilson would hit a solo home run to extend the Knights lead to 5-3. The Lions would close the gap to 5-4 in the eighth inning but a Gomez Jr solo home run in the bottom half of the inning would be the nail in the coffin as the Knights would win the game, 6-4. Ronald Zayas would get the win, throwing five innings of work with 10 strikeouts, and Caleb Lanoux would get the save, extending his career saves record to eight. The Knights will be back in action on Friday, March 4th as they welcome the Tigers from Stillman College to Stuckey Field for the opening weekend of the SSAC schedule. First pitch on Friday will be at 3 PM EST.
