Cochran, GA - The Knights were in action on Tuesday as they hosted the Eagles of Reinhardt University. The Knights were coming off of a conference weekend series that saw them win the last two games and the Knights were looking to continue their winning streak. The day looked to hold plenty of offense as the wind was blowing out to left field. The Knights would fall behind in the second inning as the Eagles would put four runs on the scoreboard. The Knights would come back in the bottom half of the inning as a walk and two singles by
Brody Little and
Derick Stager would load the bases.
Jaiden Duarte would hit a two-run single to close the gap to 4-2.
Justin Brooks would hit into what would have been a fielder's choice but an error by the Eagles would lead to another run scoring as the deficit would close to 4-3. The Knights would take the lead on
Ryan Wilson's three run home run and the Knights would go up 6-4 after two innings. The Knights would score two more runs in the third inning on a sacrifice bunt by Brooks and a wild pitch would allow the second run to score as the Knights would take an 8-4 lead. Wilson would lead off the fourth inning with another home run to put the Knights up 9-4 but the Knights would give up three runs in the fifth inning and the lead would shrink to 9-7. The Eagles would score another run in the sixth inning to close the gap to 9-8 but the Knights would answer back with two runs in the bottom half of the inning on an
Andrew Krauss RBI double and a fielder's choice that would score another run as the Knights would take an 11-8 lead. The Knights would score another run in the seventh inning on a Krauss RBI single and the Knights would have a 12-8 lead. The Knights would give up a run in the eighth inning but would hold on for the 12-9 victory.
