Knights Sweep Toppers at Home

Cochran, GA - The Knights were back in action on Saturday as they hosted the Toppers from Blue Mountain College to finish off the conference weekend. The Knights were looking to finish the weekend undefeated as they swept Stillman College on Friday. The first game would start out as a pitchers duel before the Knights would break through in the fourth inning after a lead off single from Alexis Cosgrove and stolen base would set up Loagn Blizzard for the RBI single to put the Knights up 1-0. The Knights would put the game out of hand in the fifth inning after an RBI groundout from Summer Lawrence, a two-run home run from Cosgrove, and an RBI single from Blizzard would put the Knights up 5-0. The Knights would give up a run in the sixth inning but would hold on for the 5-1 victory. The second game of the day would be a different story as the Knights offense would start clicking after a lead off walk would set up Lawrence for an RBI double. Georgia Bice would hit an RBI single and the Knights would go up 2-0 after the first inning. The Knights would score two more runs in the second inning on an RBI single from Lawrence and an RBI double from Emma Raulerson and the Knights would take a 4-0 lead. The Knights would continue to score in the third inning after a lead off double from Blizzard would set up Addison Renfroe for the RBI triple and Barrett Howell would lay down the bunt for a hit to score Renfroe as the Knights would go up 6-0. The Knights would give up a run in the fourth inning but would come back to score four runs in the bottom half of the inning on a two-run double from Blizzard and RBI singles from Howell and Lauren Heath as the Knights would hold a 10-1 lead. The Knights would give up another run in the fifth inning but would hold on for the 10-2 victory. The Knights sweep moves their record to 19-9, 5-5 SSAC as they head into the next doubleheader as they host the Barons of Brewton-Parker College on Tuesday, March 29th. First pitch is scheduled for 2 PM EST.
