Cochran, GA - The Knights were at home on Tuesday as they hosted the Sand Sharks of USC-Beaufort for a midweek matchup. The Knights came into te game riding a six game winning streak and were looking to ride the momentum to another victory. The Knights would give up two runs in the top of the second inning but
Brian Herrera would close the gap in the bottom half of the inning with a lead off solo home run to make it a 2-1 ballgame. The Knights would score again in the fifth inning after singles from
Carter Lott and
Brody Little to lead off the inning would put the Knights in control. An error by the Sand Sharks pitcher would move both runners into scoring position and
Justin Brooks would come through with the two-run single to put the Knights ahead 3-2. A lead off home run by the Sand Sharks in the top of the sixth inning would tie the game back up at 3-3 but the Knights would get lead back in the bottom half of the inning on a
Paolo Brossier RBI single that would put the Knights up 4-3. The Knightswould extend their lead in the seventh inning after a two-run double from Rafael Gomez Jr and an RBI double from
Ryan Wilson would give the Knights a 7-3 lead. The Sand Sharks would try and make a comeback on the Knights as they would score a run in the top of the ninth but the Knights would hold on for the 7-4 victory. The vitory takes the Knights record to 14-4-1 as they head into another conference weekend series as they travel to Mount Vernon, Georgia to take on the Barons on Friday, March 11th. First pitch is scheduled for 6 PM EST.
