Knights Sweep Tigers With Big Wins

Tuscaloosa, AL - The Knights were on the road on Thursday to take on the Tigers of Stillman College. The Knights defeated the Tigers at home earlier in the season and were looking to do the same on the road. The Knights would start off slow in the first game of the series as they would not score until the fourth inning. Alexis Cosgrove would lead off the fourth inning by reaching on an error. Back-to-back RBI doubles from Logan Blizzard and Addison Renfroe would give the Knights a 2-0 lead. The next two batters for the Knights would be hit by a pitch to load the bases and back-to-back walks would score two more runs. Emma Raulerson would hit a bases clearing double to push the lead to 7-0 and Cosgrove would hit into a groundout to score the eighth run of the inning and the Knights would be up 8-0 after the fourth inning. The Knights would score two more runs in the fifth inning with RBI singles from Lauren Heath and Karlee Back as the Knights would go on to win the first game 10-0. The second game of the series would start out with the Knights taking a 2-0 lead on a Georgia Bice RBI groundout and a Cosgrove RBI single. The Knights would give up five runs in the bottom half of the inning as they would trail 5-2. The Knights would not score again until the fourth inning where they would have another big inning, scoring eight runs on eight hits as they would take a 10-5 lead. The Knights would score two more runs in the sixth inning as Blizzard would put the ball in play with two runners on base and an error would allow both runners to score and the Knights would go on to win 12-5. The wins take the Knights record to 27-11, 13-7 SSAC as they will remain on the road to take on the Toppers of Blue Mountain College on Friday, April 15th. First pitch is scheduled for 1 PM EST.
