Winning Streak Continues as Knights Sweep Tornadoes

Talladega, AL - The Knights were on the road Friday as they traveled to Talladega, Alabama to take on the Tornadoes of Talladega College. The Knights went into the series on a six game winning streak and were looking to keep the streak alive. The Knights fell behind early as the Tornadoes would score two runs in the first inning. The Knights would get one run back in the fourth inning on an Emma Raulerson solo home run, her third of the season, as the Knights would make a 2-1 game. The Knights would take the lead in the fifth inning after a Lauren Heath sacrifice bunt, a wild pitch that would allow Caroline Jennings to score, and an error that would allow Summer Lawrence as te Knights would take a 4-2 lead. The Knights would add an insurance run in the seventh inning with a Lawrence RBI triple and the Knights would go on to win 5-2. The second game of the series would see the Knights take the lead in the second inning with solo home runs from Alexis Cosgrove and Logan Blizzard to lead off the inning as the Knights would lead 2-0. The Knights would give up a run in the third inning but would get the run back in the fourth inning on a Barrett Howell RBI single. The Knights give the run back in the bottom half of the inning as the Knights would lead 3-2. The Knights would score four runs in the sixth inning on a Heath sacrifice fly, a wild pitch that would allow Howell to score, a Lawrence RBI single, and an error that would allow Lawrence to score. The Knights would hold on to the lead as they would come out victorious with a score of 7-2. The wins move the Knights record to 23-9, 9-5 SSAC as they extend their winning streak to eight games. The Knights will be back at home on Tuesday, April 5th as they play a non-conference series against the Sand Sharks of USC-Beaufort. First pitch is scheduled for 2 PM EST.
