Cochran, GA - The Knights were back on the field on Friday as they hosted the Tornadoes of Talladega College. The Knights swept the Tornadoes on the road and were looking to do the same at home. The Knights would get the scoring started in the first inning with a
Georgia Bice RBI single after a two out triple from
Emma Raulerson to go up 1-0. The Knights would keep the offense rolling in the second inning as
Logan Blizzard would lead off the inning with a walk and Addison Renfore would hit a double to drive Blizzard in. Renfroe would score later in the inning on a double steal to put the Knights up 3-0.
Summer Lawrence would hit a two run single and Raulerson would hit an RBI double to put the Knights up 6-0. The Knights would add another run in the third inning on a
Lauren Heath RBI double and the Knights would go up 7-0. The bats would stay hot in the fourth inning as
Alexis Cosgrove would hit a two run single to put the Knights up 9-0 and the Knights would win the first game of the double header. The Knights fall behind early in the second game of the series as they would give up three runs in the first inning but they would come back in the bottom half of the inning as Raulerson would hit a two run single and Bice would hit an RBI single and the Knights would tie the game at 3-3. The Knights would give up another run in the third inning to fall behind 4-3. The Knights take the lead in the fourth inning as Heath would lead off the inning with a double.
Makayla Swanson would pinch run for Heath and later score on an error. Cosgrove would come to the plate with two runners on and the game tied and hit a three run home run to give the Knights the 7-4 lead. The Knights would hold on to the lead and win the game by the same score. The sweep moves the Knights record to 32-12, 18-8 SSAC as they will host the Eagles of Faulkner University on Saturday, April 23rd. First pitch is scheduled for 1 PM EST.
