MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Middle Georgia State defeated top-seeded William Carey 4-1 to win the 2022 SSAC Women's Tennis Championship. It was the Knights first women's tennis tournament title. Isadora Marcondes was named Championship MVP after picking up a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles and 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles.
The Knights picked up the doubles point after 6-1 and 6-3 wins in the No. 2 and 3 spots. The clinching win came at No. 6 singles, where Paula Rodriguez won in a second-set tiebreaker.
The Knights secure a spot in the NAIA Tournament with the victory as they will travel to Mobile, Alabama to start the tournament on May 17th.
