Cochran, GA - The Knights were on the field on Tuesday as they hosted the Eagles of Trinity Baptist College in a tune-up doubleheader before heading to the SSAC Tournament. The Knights would show their dominance as they would score three runs in the first inning as
Emma Raulerson would hit into the fielder's choice to drive in the first run and
Georgia Bice would hit a two run home run, her eighth of the season, to put the Knights up 3-0. The Knights would score two more runs in the second inning on a
Lauren Heath RBI triple and a
Karlee Back RBI single to go ahead 5-0. After giving up a run in the top of the inning, the Knights would add another run in the third inning after an error would allow a run to score and the Knights would be up 6-1. The Knights would score two more runs in the fourth inning after a double steal would score one run and a Raulerson sacrifice fly would score another, putting the Knights ahead 8-1. The Knights would walk the game off in the fifth inning on a Raulerson RBI single to win the game 9-1. The Knights would go into the second game of the day with the plan to play all of the bench players and the bench would perform well. The Knights would score six runs in the first inning on an
Arabia Easley two run home run, a
Taylor Elliott two run double, a
Makinley Fields sacrifice fly, and a
Lauren Hicks RBI single. The Knights would score four more runs in the third inning on an RBI single from
Brooke Ayo, a
Makayla Swanson RBI groundout, and another two run home run from Easley. The Knights pitching would keep the Eagles off the board as
Beth Eddins and
Riley Edge would throw the combined shutout, allowing only five hits. The Knights will now head to Decatur, Alabama to take part in the SSAC Tournament where they will take on Talladega College at 2 PM CST.
