Decatur, AL - The Knights were in Decatur, Alabama for the SSAC Tournament as they finished the regular season in third place behind Mobile and William Carey. They would take on the 6-seed Tornadoes of Talladega College. The Knights would get on the board first as they would score seven runs in the second inning after a sacrifice bunt attempt by
Lauren Heath would result in two runs scoring.
Summer Lawrence would come up later in the inning with two runners on base to hit the three run home run to put the Knights up 5-0.
Georgia Bice would reach on an error that result in two more runs scoring as the Knights would be up 7-0 after the second inning. The Knights would score three more runs in the third inning on RBI singles by
Caroline Jennings and
Karlee Back and a sacrifice fly by
Emma Raulerson to take a 10-0 lead after the third inning. The Knights would score one more run in the fourth inning after a single by
Addison Renfroe would score a run to put the Knights up 11-0. The Knights would take a no-hitter into the fifth inning but would give up a leadoff single but the Knights would win the game 11-1. The Knights advance to take on the 2-seed Crusaders of William Carey University on Friday, April 29th. First pitch is scheduled for 1 PM EST.
