Cochran, GA - Our summer interview series returns as we ask our Knights head coaches to take a moment and reflect on the past season as well as look at the upcoming season and give us their thoughts. If you are new to the series, we ask our coaches a few questions about the past season and the upcoming season and to share some of their thoughts. Our next coach is
Becca Hewitt, our Softball coach.
- How do you feel your previous season went?
This past year was a great year for us. We were able to change the culture and begin moving forward to finding success. The transfers we brought in really bought in to what we are trying to build and led the way towards our 39-14 season.Â
- Who were your key departures from last year's team and who are some key arrivals for the upcoming season?
Sadly, we lost Karlee Back who was our lead off first team All-Confefence and second team All-American so that was a sad one to see go but everyone else is returning and looking forward to another successful year. We have a great group of transfer coming in from Alabama, Michigan, California, and Florida as well as three very eager freshman. Emily Deatherage is looking to help us in the circle as well as Kaelyn Campbell to help us have more depth while playing other positions.Â
- What are your expectations for the upcoming season?
I am eager to pick up where we left off and really break into the one and two slot of our conference. We have the knowledge of what it takes to get there and the depth coming in to help us do it. It should be another fun, successful season that helps continue paving the way.Â
Check back in a few days as we continue our series with our next coach,
Paul Knight, our Baseball coach.
