Cochran, GA - The Knights were at home for the first time this season on Wednesday, February 8th as they hosted the Wolves of Wesleyan College. The Knights were coming off of a split with Reinhardt University and were looking to build some momentum. The Knights would get things started in the first inning of the first game of the series with four runs capped off by a
Summer Lawrence home run. The Knights would continue to add runs with two runs in the second inning and one run in the third and fourth innings. The Knights would get four innings from
Beth Eddins and one inning from
Sarah Latham as they would combine to throw a five hit shutout win. The Knights would come back for game two and would try to keep the offense running. The Knights would get one run in the second and third innings to take a 2-0 lead. The Knights would get another two runs in the sixth inning after RBI doubles from
Alexis Cosgrove and Lawrence to give the Knights a 4-0 and the Knights would go on to win by the same score.
Mackenzie Silvia would pitch the complete game shutout, giving up only four hits and striking out five batters. The Knights will be back in action on Thursday, February 9th as they host the Bears of Truett-McConnell University as they make up a previously rained out series. First pitch is scheduled for 12 PM EST.
