Knights Bounce Back With Sweep Over Barons

Cochran, GA - The Knights were back in action on Thursday, April 6th as they hosted the Barons of Brewton-Parker College. The Knights were coming off of two losses on the road and were looking to get back on track. The Knights would score first as they would score two runs in the second inning on a Summer Lawrence RBI double and Lawrence would later come around to score. The Knights would add another run in the fourth inning on an RBI single from Lauren Heath that put the Knights up 3-0. The Knights would give up a run in the fifth inning but the defense would lock down the Barons as the Knights would win the first game 3-1. Beth Eddins threw a complete game, allowing only one run on three hits. The second game of the series would see more offense by the Knights as they would score one run in the first inning on a Logan Blizzard RBI single. The Knights would score two more runs in the second inning on an Emma Raulerson two-run single and the Knights would move ahead 3-0. The Knights would continue to add on runs as they would score two more runs in the fourth inning as an error by the Barons would allow one run to score and a Christina Zeppa sacrifice fly would bring in another run and the Knights would take a 5-0 lead. The Knights would give up a run in the fifth inning but they would score another run in the sixth inning as the Knights would win the game 6-1. Madisyn Riggins would get the win, throwing a complete game and allowing only one run on four hits while striking out five batters. The Knights will be back in action on Tuesday, April 11th as they travel to Montgomery, Alabama to take on the Eagles of Faulkner University to make up a series that was postponed earlier in the season due to weather. First pitch is scheduled for 2 PM EST.
