Tuscaloosa, AL - The Knights were on the road this past weekend as they traveled to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to take on the Tigers of Stillman College. The Knights were looking to return to form as they had scored at least 10 runs in their last three games. The Knights would get the scoring started in the second inning as they would score four runs by way of a
Datren Bray sacrifice fly, a
JT Rice walk, and an error that would allow two runs to score as they Knights would take a 4-0 lead. The Knights would score four more runs in the third inning, three on bases loaded walks and one on a wild pitch, and the Knights would have a comfortable 8-0 lead. After giving up four runs in the bottom of the third inning, the Knights would score two runs in the fourth inning on a
Derick Stager RBi single and a wild pitch. The Knights would continue to score runs as they would score one run in the fifth inning on a
Jaiden Duarte RBi single and score three runs in the sixth inning on a Bray solo home run and RBI singles from
Ryan Wilson and
Andrew Krauss. The Knights pitching would close out the game and the Knights would win the first game of the series 14-4. The Knights would carry their scoring over into the second game of the series as they would continue to do damage against the Tigers pitching. The Knights would score two runs in the second inning on a Duarte solo home run and a Bray RBI groundout to go up 2-0. The Knights would get an RBI double from Wilson and an RBI single from Krauss in the third inning and score four more runs in the fourth inning on RBI doubles from Rice and
Jacob Pierce and an error by the Tigers would allow another run to score as the Knights would hold an 8-0 lead. The Knights would score five more runs in the game and would go on to win 13-0. The Knights would come back on Saturday, looking to close out the series and get the sweep. The sweep looked to be out of reach early as the Tigers would score four runs in the first inning but the Knights would settle down and score five runs in the third inning as Rice would hit a two-run double, RBI singles from Pierce and Krauss, and an error by the Tigers as the Knights would take the lead, 5-4. The Knights would give up a run in the bottom half of the inning but would come back in the fifth inning and score six runs on RBI singles by Pierce, Krauss, and Bray as well as a bases clearing, three-run double from
Josiah Rivera as the Knights would have an 11-5 lead. The Tigers would continue to try and claw back into the game as they would score four runs in the fifth and one run in the sixth and the Knights would have an 11-10 lead after six innings. The Knights would score one run in the eighth inning on an RBI single from Jake Edwards and score another run on a Wilson sacrifice fly in the ninth inning as they would go on to win 13-11. The Sweep moves the Knights records to 26-19, 12-9 SSAC as the Knights head into the final week of the regular season and the final conference series when they host the Barons of Brewton-Parker College.
