Knights Tame Tigers on the Road

Tuscaloosa, AL - The Knights were on the road on Friday, April 21st as they traveled to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to take on the Tigers of Stillman College. The Knights swept the Tigers at home earlier in the season and were looking to get another sweep on the road. The Knights would get the scoring started early as they would score one run in the first inning on an RBI groundout by Logan Blizzard that would give the Knights the 1-0 lead. The Tigers would score two runs in the second inning and the Knights would have to play from behind until the sixth inning. The Knights would tie the game at 2-2 in the sixth inning on a Summer Lawrence RBI double that would send the game to extra innings. The Knights would score four runs in the eighth inning, scoring on an error, two sacrifice flies, and an RBI single from Addison Renfroe. The Knights would shut down the Tigers in the bottom half of the inning as they would win the first game of the series 6-2. The Knights would get off to a slow start in the second game of the series as the Tigers would score one run in the second inning. The Knights would not score until the fourth inning when they would score three runs on a Georgia Bice sacrifice fly and a Lauren Heath two-run double as the Knights would take a 3-1 lead. The Knights would score two more runs in the fifth inning on a Lawrence two-run single and would hold a commanding 5-1 lead. The Tigers would score a run in the bottom half of the inning but the Knights hang on for the 5-2 win. The Knights move to 35-9, 19-5 SSAC with the sweep as they remain on the road for another conference series on Saturday, April 22nd as they play the Toppers of Blue Mountain Christian University. First pitch is scheduled for 12 PM CST.
