Knights Bats Go Quiet on Road

Cleveland, GA - The Knights were on the road on Tuesday, April 4th as they traveled to Cleveland, Georgia to take on the 23rd ranked Bears of Truett-McConnell University. The Knights swept the Bears at home to start the season and the Knights were looking to do the same on the road. The Knights offense would sputter in game one as they would only be able to muster two hits throughout the game as the Knights would give up two runs in the third inning and three runs in the sixth inning as they would lose the first game of the doubleheader 5-0. The Knights would find some offense in game two as they would score one run in the first inning on a Logan Blizzard RBI double but the Knights would give up a run in the bottom half of the inning and the game would be tied at 1-1 after one inning. The Knights would give up three runs in the third inning but would get one run back in the fourth inning on a Summer Lawrence sacrifice fly. The Knights would score another run in the fifth inning on a Christina Zeppa RBI single as the deficit would be 4-3. The Knights would give up a run in the bottom half of the fifth inning but would score two runs in the sixth inning after an error by the Bears would allow both runs to score and the game would be tied at 5-5. The Knights would lose 6-5 after giving up a walkoff home run in the bottom half of the seventh inning. The Knights record falls to 25-7 as they get set to host the Barons of Brewton-Parker College on Thursday, April 6th. First pitch is scheduled for 1 PM EST.
