Hattiesburg, MS - The Knights were back in action on Saturday, January 6th as they remained on the road in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to take on the Crusaders of William Carey University. The Knights were looking to end their losing skid as they had lost the last four games. The Knights would hit the first shot of the game, a three pointer from
Keiane' Rollins, but the Crusaders would go on a 12-0 run and the Knights would face an uphill battle. The Knights would be up for the challenge as they would cut the lead down to two points before ending the first quarter down 20-16. The Knights would tie the game at 20-20 early in the second quarter before the Crusaders would jump back out to a nine point lead but the Knights would fight back again and close the lead down to 37-34 at the halftime break. The second half of the game would not go in favor of the Knights as they would get within one point of the Crusaders before the Crusaders would score 19 unanswered points and the Knights would face a 61-43 deficit at the end of the third quarter. The deficit would grow to 30 in the fourth quarter as they Knights would fall to the Crusaders 80-50.
Lashauna Coley led the Knights with 12 points, 10 of them coming from the free throw line. The Knights will be back in action on Wednesday, January 17th as they host the Running Eagles of Life University. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM EST.
