Mount Vernon, GA - The Knights were on the road on Thursday, October 24th as they traveled to Mount Vernon, Georgia to take on the Barons of Brewton-Parker College in the final SSAC regular season match of the year. The Knights were coming off of a win against ABAC and were looking to put together a winning streak.
The Knights would be in possession of the ball for much of the first half as they would fire off a barrage of shots at the Barons goalkeeper. The Knights would get on the scoreboard in the 23rd minute with a goal from
Annaliese Agler as they would go up 1-0. The goals would come quickly after the first with goals in the 29th minute from
Safiya Dean and two goals in the 31st minute from
Aroa Pena. The Knights would take the 4-0 lead into the halftime break. The Knights would get another goal 25 seconds into the second half with an own goal by the Barons to take a 5-0 lead. Pena would finish her hat trick with a goal in the 72nd minute and goals by
Madison Giron in the 73rd minute and
JahNiyah Phillip in the 78th minute would put the Knights up 8-0 as that would end up the final score.
Hollie Keefe would get the shutout win with two saves, both in the first half.
The Knights will finish out their regular season schedule on Tuesday, October 29th as they travel to Americus, Georgia to take on NCAA D-II Georgia Southwestern. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 PM EST.
