Brunswick, GA - The Knights were on the road on Wednesday, November 6th for their first true road game as they were set to take on the Mariners of the College of Coastal Georgia. The Knights previously played the Mariners earlier in the season at home, picking up a win, and were looking to pick up another win.
The Knights and Mariners would trade the lead multiple times to start off the game as it would the story all night. Both teams looked evenly matched as neither team could pull away from the other. The Mariners would take a four point lead, their largest of the half, with 14:52 remaining in the first half but the Knights would close the deficit as they would take a four point lead with 8:07 remaining in the half. The game would remain close as the score at halftime would be tied at 32-32. The Mariners would come out in the second half and take control of the game as they would jump out to a nine point lead with 14:27 remaining in the game but the Knights would not quit as they would cut down the deficit and take the lead with 10:28 remaining in the game. The game would remain close until 2:12 remaining when the Knights would take the lead for good as they would win the game 67-64.
Trashawn Wilson led the Knights with 21 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field as
Andrew Prestwood would add 18 points with
Milique Smith and
Jamal Taylor both reaching double digits in scoring.
The Knights will be back in action on Saturday, November 9th as they return to their home court to take on the Eagles of Reinhardt University. Tip-off is set for 2 PM EST.
