Cochran, GA - The Knights were back on their home court on Saturday, November 9th as they hosted the Eagles of Reinhardt University. It had been nine years since the two teams played and the Knights were looking to start another winning streak.
The Knights would get off to a slower start as they would trail the Eagles until the 12:51 mark in the first half when they would take the lead for the first time at 14-13. The game would turn into a back and forth battle until the Knights would use an 8-0 run late in the half to take a 28-20 lead. The Knights would continue to put the pressure on the Eagles as they would extend their lead to as much as 17 points in the first half and would go into halftime up 42-27. The Knights lead would be cut down to 12 points early in the second half but they would go on another run and take a 20 point lead with 15:24 remaining in the game. The Knights defense kept playing well as the lead would grow to as much as 26 points before the final buzzer with the Knights on the winning side of the 83-64 scoreboard. The Knights were led by
Milique Smith with 18 points and 12 rebounds while
Trashawn Wilson (16 points),
Andrew Prestwood (13 points), and
Nick Cham (10 points) would each reach double digits in scoring.
The Knights move to 4-1 on the season as they move into the first week of SSAC action next Thursday, November 14th as they travel to Tifton, Georgia to take on conference newcomer Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST.
