Cochran, GA – Middle Georgia State University Head Softball Coach Randi Wimpy has announced the Knights schedule for the upcoming 2025 season. The Knights will look to make a return trip to the postseason in 2025 after making the finals of the SSAC Tournament and returning to the NAIA Opening Round last season.
"Coming into our final season in the NAIA, we are excited to play against some of the top teams in the nation and this team is always up for a challenge! With that being said, we look forward to thriving in this competitive season" said Wimpy.
The Knights will open the 2025 season at home on January 30
th against Ave Maria University. The Knights will hit the road the following weekend with a two day series at Georgia College when they face a pair of NCAA Division II opponents in the Bobcats of Georgia College and the Lions of Mars Hill University.
MGA will return home for double-headers against Talladega College on February 13
th and Reinhardt University on February 17
th before starting conference play with a road trip to Point University on February 21
st and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College on February 22
nd. The Knights first conference home games will be on February 28
th when they host Thomas University before they return to the road for a series against Reinhardt University.
The Knights will return to Gulf Shores, Alabama for the Gulf Shores Invitational from March 7-9 with five games slated over the course of the three days. The Knights will play Campbellsville University and Freed-Hardeman University on March 7
th, Houston-Victoria and United States Sports Academy on March 8
th, and wrap up with the University of the Cumberlands on March 9
th.
The Knights will have a quick turnaround as they host the Hurricanes of NCAA D-II Georgia Southwestern on March 11
th before hitting the road for conference series against Brewton-Parker, UT-Southern, and Blue Mountain. MGA will encounter their toughest stretch of games when they host the University of Mobile on March 27
th, play at Faulkner University on March 29
th, and return home to host Georgia Gwinnett on April 2
nd and William Carey on April 5
th.
The regular season will wrap up with two road series against Thomas University and Georgia Gwinnett and three home series against Point University, Abraham Baldwin, and Brewton-Parker.
The Knights are slated to travel to Decatur, Alabama for the SSAC Conference Tournament, held from May 1-3, with the hopes of being in position for a selection into the NAIA Tournament for the third consecutive season, starting on May 12
th.
