Knights Lose Close Match to D-II Augusta

Augusta, GA - The Knights were on the road for the first time this season as they traveled to Augusta, Georgia to take on the Jaguars of D-II Augusta University. The Knights were playing up to an NCAA opponent for the second time this season as they prepare for the move to D-II in a few years. The Knights would have a good start in the doubles portion of the match as they would win the #3 doubles match but would lose the #2 and #1 matches as Augusta would take the point and the Knights would go into singles competition down 1-0. The #5 singles match would be the first to finish as the Knights would go down 2-0. The Knights would take the next point as the #6 singles match would be the next to finish. The #1 singles match would finish next as the Knights would lose the point and be down 3-1. The Knights would close out the #2 and #3 singles matches to tie the match at 3-3 and it would come down to the #4 singles match. The Knights would push the Jaguars but would ultimately lose the point as the Knights would lose the overall match 4-3.

The Knights will come home for their next match as the take on the 12th-ranked Bees of SCAD-Savannah. That match is scheduled for Sunday, February 11th at 1 PM EST.
