Cochran, GA - The Knights were back on the field on Saturday, February 17th as they closed out the SSAC opening series with the 18th-ranked Rams of the University of Mobile. The Knights and Rams split the first two games of the series and the Knights were looking to take the first conference series of the season. The Knights would face a Rams threat in the top of the first inning as the Rams would put runners on first and third but the Knights would get out of the inning without giving up a run. The Knights would return the threat to the Rams as they would draw two walks with two outs in the second inning but would come away with no runs. The Rams would threaten again in the fifth inning after a walk and wild pitch would put a runner on third, the Knights would get a groundout to get out of the jam. The Knights would come back in the bottom half of the inning with four runs as Jacob Pierce would hit a two-run home run. Zane Faulk would hit an RBI double down the left field line and Yariel Diaz would hit an RBI single to center field as the Knights would lead 4-0 after five innings. The Rams would two runners on base in the sixth inning but the Knights would continue to play good defense as they would get out of the inning without allowing a run. The pitcher's duel would continue as neither team could generate any offense as the Knights would hold on for the 4-0 win. Daniel Vos would get the win, pitching seven innings and allowing no runs on five hits and striking out four batters. The Knights will be back in action on Tuesday, February 20th as they travel to Hardeeville, South Carolina to take on the Sand Sharks of D-II USC-Beaufort. First pitch is scheduled for 3 PM EST.
