Knights Sweep Phoenix

2/23/2024 5:55:00 AM

Macon, GA - The Knights were back on their home court for the first time in three weeks on Thursday, February 22nd as they hosted the Phoenix of Cumberland University. The Knights were coming off of a big upset win over Xavier and were looking to carry that momentum into Thursday's match. The Knights would dominate the doubles portion of the match as they would win all three doubles matches to take the first point of the match. The singles matches would be much of the same story as all of the singles matches would go the way of the Knights as they would win all of the singles matches in straight sets except for one with a Phoenix player having to retire from the match. The Knights would win the match 7-0.

"It is unfortunate for CU that they have been hit with a rash of injuries this season, they are a quality team. Our girls did what was necessary in what can be a tricky match situation." Coach Tom Bates
