Montgomery, AL - The Knights were on the road again on Saturday, February 24th as they played the Eagles of Faulkner University. The Knights were coming off of a sweep against Point University and were looking to keep their season undefeated. The Knights would look good at the start of the first game as
Summer Lawrence would hit a two-run single to put the Knights up 2-0 after the first inning. Lawrence would come up to bat again in the third inning and knock in another run on an RBI single and the Knights looked to be in control. The Knights would end up going to extra innings as they would give up a run in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings as the game would be tied at 3-3. The game would remain tied until the tenth inning when the Eagles would push a run across and the Knights would lose the first game of the season, 4-3. The second game of the day would turn into a pitcher's duel as neither team would score until the fifth inning when
Morgan Windham would hit an RBI single to put the Knights up 1-0. The Eagles would score a run in the bottom half of the fifth inning to tie the game at 1-1 and the second game of the day would also go into extra innings. The Knights would jump on the Eagles with a two-run home run from Lawrence as the Knights would take a 3-1 lead and win the game. The Knights record moves to 9-1, 3-1 SSAC as they will be back in action on Tuesday, February 27th as they travel to Lawrenceville, Georgia to take on the 4th-ranked Grizzlies of Georgia Gwinnett College. First pitch is scheduled for 3 PM EST.
