Knights Take Two From Tigers

Cochran, GA - The Knights were at home on Thursday, March 14th as they hosted the Tigers of Stillman College for a conference series. The Knights were coming off of a big win against Georgia Gwinnett and were looking to ride the momentum for some more wins.

Game One

The Knights started off the game looking sluggish as they would give up four runs in the second inning on a grand slam and one run in the fourth inning on a solo home run. The Knights would get the offense rolling in the fifth inning as Jaiden Duarte would lead off the inning with a solo home run to close the gap. The gap would close further later in the inning on a two-run Double from JT Rice as the Knights would trail 5-3 after five innings. The Knights would come up clutch in the seventh inning as they would get an RBI single from Rice, an RBI single from Brennon Williams, and score on a throwing error as the Knights would take the 6-5 win.

Game Two

The second game of the day would be all in favor of the Knights as they would score five runs in the second inning on a sacrifice fly from Datren Bray, a single by Chaz Salter that the Tigers center fielder would boot that would allow all three base runners to score, and a Jacob Pierce solo home run. The Knights would add on another run in the third inning after a wild pitch would allow Zane Faulk to score to give the Knights a 6-0 lead. The Knights would add on another three runs in the fourth inning on a solo home run from Salter and a two-run home run from Ryan Wilson. The Knights would put the game out of reach in the fifth inning after a single from Hunter Noblitt and an error by the Tigers would allow a run to score and an RBI groundout from Salter would give the Knights an 11-0 lead. The Knights would keep the Tigers off the scoreboard as they would go on to win the game 11-0.

The two wins for the Knights brings their record to 12-12 as they will look to close out the series on Friday, March 15th and sweep the Tigers. First pitch is scheduled for 11 AM EST.
